I think your idea is wonderful and would have a wide audience. I hope you do something with this topic, even if it only ends up as a short story or novella. What would happen if you did it in the past tense and structured it in a manner in which someone who lived through the book banning told the story of what they experienced? I look forward to reading any work you create on this subject.

I think it would be fun but it would have to be a lot more complicated than this— a deeper dive into the library and lots of almost getting caught, getting caught, false rescue, etc. I’m revising a novel about censorship in a high school. Thought I was done, but now am removing two POVs from the multi-POV narrative and switching another POV from mother to daughter. It actually takes place in 2000–I’m trying to show how this mess starts up.
