Really great newsletter today! Thanks for mentioning Every Library! I joined and sent a donation. I’ll be damned if scared parents are going to ruin libraries on my watch.
Thanks for the support! I worked hard on this one. Glad you connected to Every Library. What is truly ironic about those removing books and saying they are putting the choices in the hands of the parents—they are removing the choices from parents who don’t think like they do, who want to raise their kids differently. If diverse books stay on the shelves then the choice truly is in the hands of the parents. Check out what you want and leave the rest!
Exactly! Stop banning. Keep your insecurities and projections off of me! Kids are curious. Be open with them, let them know if they aren’t ready for certain literature and move on. Are they gonna ban social media too? Ban kids from the internet? Kids always find a way especially when you make a big deal about it. Grrrrrrr!
Great Substack Vic! Sadly Kootenai County is just one case here in Idaho (and is actually the county just south of us and our big shopping hub). There are other issues in some of the other counties as well, like banning children completely from certain libraries. I have been on Every Library’s email list for a couple years now, thanks to Idaho’s archaic laws it’s best to stay informed. Thank you for sharing their information for others.
Sadly this is just the start of what looks to be a hellish two years. Which is another reason to break out that amazing tea mug of yours. ☕️ It’s awesome and perfect.
I figured after a few years, no one would know why I had a mug saying I was a nasty woman. Sadly, boy, was I wrong! Yes, I know Idaho has statewide laws banning children from a variety of materials—and if the library is too small to break up into section and rooms, bye-bye kids! Which is insane. Which will hurt rural children the most (ironically, kids in the areas most likely to have supported such a law). Do we want our kids to be readers or not? They need to be in the library every 2-3 weeks, checking out new books! Thanks for the support! I worked hard on this post!
Excellent. Substack today. Informative while providing options for actions in a time when one feels ineffective. Thank you, Vic.
Thanks. I think these options are good ones as a start. I hope others find them useful.
Gosh, Laura - the cards of yours that Victoria showed in this post are gorgeous! Brava!
Thank you, Kelly.

Excellent points about these submissive billionaires
It’s truly mind boggling.
LOL she wants mercy for illegal aliens, but makes no mention of Americans killed and raped by illegal aliens
